The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is collaborating with the Partnership for People with Disabilities to complete the National Core Indicators-Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD) Adult Consumer Survey to learn about the long term services and supports (LTSS) people receive and use in Virginia.
This is the first year Virginia will participate in NCI-AD. The goal is to interview 2000 older adults and people with physical disabilities across the state of Virginia who use long term services and supports. People are randomly selected to participate in the surveys.
Adult Consumer Survey
The Adult Consumer Survey is for older adults and people with physical disabilities who use long term services and supports. All surveys will be completed by phone.
If someone is selected to participate in the Adult Consumer Survey here is what will happen:
- The participant will receive a letter in the mail letting them know that they have been selected to participate in NCI-AD.
- An interviewer from the Partnership for People with Disabilities will call the participant or legal guardian to schedule a time to meet that is most convenient for the participant.
- The participant may have someone with them during the interview.
- On the scheduled date, the interviewer will meet with the participant by phone and ask questions about the services they use.
- If the participant does not want to take part in the survey, they may tell the interviewer when they call.
